“Christmas market in the highest tones": Tower blowing from the collegiate church tower from Friday to Sunday
Every evening from Friday to Sunday on all Christmas market weekends, Stuttgart brass players will play from the tower of the collegiate church. Various trombone choirs from Stuttgart and the region will climb the 232 steps to the top of the tower, which is around 60 meters high, and play from the tower of the collegiate church.
On all Christmas market weekends, Stuttgart trombone choirs play atmospheric Advent and Christmas music from the tower of the collegiate church and from the town hall balcony from Friday to Sunday:
Fridays: 5.45–6.15 p.m.
29.11. Posaunenchor Reichenbach/Fils
06.12. Posaunenchor Heslach
13.12. Familie Rückle & firends
20.12. Posaunenchöre Paul Gerhardt und Heslach
All Saturdays: 5.45–6.15 p.m.
Trombone choir of the Stiftskirchengemeinde
Sundays: 5.45–6.15 p.m.
08.12. Posaunenchor Christuskirche
15.12. Posaunenchor Feuerbach
22.12. Posaunenchor Heumaden
Afterwards, from around 6.30 p.m., the choirs will play from the town hall balcony, except on 29/30 November and 13 December.
The tower blowing from the west tower of Stuttgart's central Stiftskirche is one of the city's oldest traditions. There has been regular tower blowing since 1618, currently on Tuesday and Thursday market days at 8.45 am.
